The City of Waco’s annual concert series continues on Friday, June 14 in downtown Waco next to the historic Suspension Bridge. Headlining the event is country soul singer Charley Crockett, a bluesman with Texas roots and some New Orleans flavor. Crockett’s unique approach to American roots music — a mix of Texas blues, classic country and Cajun soul — has earned him an audience on both sides of the Atlantic. Last year, Rolling Stone said Crockett’s Lonesome As A Shadow was one of the “25 Best Country and Americana albums of 2018.” Also taking the stage that evening is WACO-based Americana singer, Thomas Csorba, and southern rock and roll band, Quaker City Night Hawks.
The free show begins at 7 p.m. at Indian Spring Park. The concert also includes great food, sponsor booths and an arts and crafts area.
