“Building a Healthy Service Industry” Panel Discussion

Wanted to extend an invitation to y’all to attend a panel discussion that Waco Women in Service is hosting during Waco Restaurant Week.
This dynamic discussion will take place on Monday October 21st at 6 pm at the Waco Performing Arts Community Center, 924 Austin Ave. This event is free and open to the public.

As an educational piece to Waco Restaurant Week we’re proud to host “Building a Healthy Service Industry,” a panel discussion with four accomplished women from across Texas. The panel will be moderated by our own Carter Lacy and Sarah Holder of the podcast ‘Somm of Our Thoughts’ and will cover a broad range of topics including living wages, access to healthcare, work-life-family balance, and access to other resources to support our food and beverage industry workers.

Our panelists are drawn from cities outside of Waco so we can learn from the success of other markets.
They include:
Nitza Cuevas, Program Director at Good Work Austin
Madison Gessner, Executive Director of Texas Restaurant Association, Central-South
Erin Smith, owner and operator of Feges BBQ and board member of Southern Smoke Foundation
