In celebration of Kermit Oliver’s 80th birthday, Art Center Waco is pleased to present an exhibition of wearable art, a 30-year collaboration between Waco Artist Kermit Oliver and French Fashion House, Hermès.

Kermit Oliver, a Texas postal worker and humble artist, created sixteen silk scarf designs for Hermès, each one a vibrant and intricate depiction of American culture and history.

You are cordially invited to the Opening Reception for this very special exhibit: Friday, August 4, at 6:00 pm, at Art Center Waco. Drinks and light bites were provided. Suggested donation of $10.

“Hermès in the Heart of Texas: The Art of Kermit Oliver” will be on view at Art Center Waco from August 4-October 14, 2023. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday, 11:00 am-5:00 pm, Thursday until 7:00 pm, and Saturday, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. Curated by Andrea La Valleur-Purvis.
