Runners and walkers can choose a professionally timed 5K or a non-timed 1K fun run/walk through downtown Waco on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2026, with proceeds benefiting the Community Cancer Association.

About the Event

The Poultry in Motion — Waco Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot brings runners and walkers together for a Thanksgiving-morning tradition in downtown Waco. The event offers a professionally timed, USATF-certified 5K starting at 8:30 a.m. and a non-timed 1K Fun Run/Walk starting at 8 a.m.

Participants can also register for “Who’s Your Side Dish?” — an untimed option for anyone who wants to join in without racing.

Registration includes race shirts for eligible sign-ups, finisher medals for 5K and 1K participants, and Thanksgiving-themed extras including a costume contest and a pie-eating competition.

This year’s title sponsor is Bosque Spirits.

Registration is available through RunSignUp. Pricing increases after October 29, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. for the 5K, 1K, and “Side Dish” options.
