How To Avoid Your Next Traffic Jam

Picture this: you’re running out the door, hot coffee in hand, racing to beat the morning rush hour to work. You make your way through downtown Waco and all of the sudden, you see the orange traffic cones and the ‘Road Closed’ sign ahead of you. No need to worry, we’ve got all of the updates on Waco’s partial and full road closures listed to make your commute even easier. Here is an updated list of road closures in the downtown area:

  • Seventh Street from Washington Avenue
  • Seventh Street Austin Avenue to Franklin Avenue
  • Jackson Avenue from Sixth to Seventh Avenue (until March 13)
  • Sixth to Seventh on Mary Avenue (until March 13)
  • Elm Avenue from Mann Street to Peach Street (until March 15)
  • Pleasant Street at Elm Avenue (until March 23)

Fortunately, not all streets are completely blocked off, meaning you still have access to partially closed roads! Check out these closures:

  • Mary to Jackson Avenue on Sixth Street (until March 13)
  • Franklin Ave from 8th to 9th (Until March 28th)
  • Clay Avenue from University Parks to the Brazos River (until July 11)

College students, we’ve got you covered, too! Be sure to note the following closures connected to Baylor University:

  • University Parks Drive from Clay Avenue to Jackson Avenue
  • University Parks Drive from Interstate Highway 35 Frontage Road and Webster Avenue (until March 31)

Running a little behind or worried about traffic in the morning? Make sure to stay up-to-date on downtown Waco’s streets for a safe and convenient commute. Check out the City of Waco site for more information on future road closures.
