Halloween is coming up and no matter how old you are, you’re never too old to celebrate Halloween. Halloween can be enjoyed by everyone and you don’t need to go door-to-door with a bucket asking for candy to celebrate! Downtown Waco has an assortment of events and activities to help everyone get into the Halloween spirit. Those who join in are definitely going to have a lot of skele-fun. We can feel it in our bones!
Fill the first weekend of October with an art and crafts workshop at Paper Crown Waco! From October 7-8, this Halloween mini-retreat consists of two full days of classes with Julie Collings and Lisa Waring. All necessary supplies and Halloween swag will be included. Not only will you spend the weekend with other Halloween-loving artists but you also receive discounted shopping, get to attend an evening soirée and make and enjoy hors d’oeuvres. Dr Pepper Museum Paranormal Experience
Warning: this is not for the faint-hearted! This two-hour tour was created after paranormal investigators experienced paranormal activity for decades. The Paranormal Experience at the Dr Pepper Museum consists of expert guides that will show you a different side of the museum, including the infamous off-limits basement. From apparitions to floating orbs, the Dr Pepper Museum has seen it all and you can too, if you are 18 years of age or older. Those who participate will receive investigation tools, a glass bottle of Dr Pepper and access to exclusive paranormal merch!
Skellington’s at Southern Roots
Those who are 18+ are cordially invited to the fourth annual Skellington Curiosities Halloween Ball on Friday the 13th! Hosted at Southern Roots Brewing Company, you’ll be able to enjoy the food and drinks you know and love but with a side of Halloween fun. Don’t miss out on a costume contest, music, prizes and more happening from 8 p.m. to midnight!

A night of maddening mysteries and thrill sure does give off Halloween vibes! Great for friends and families, Waco Escape Rooms puts everyone to the test with each room’s perplexing puzzles you must solve in order to escape. Your team will only have 60 minutes to investigate a room full of mind-numbing clues leading to your escape. If you really want to get into the Halloween spirit, consider their Paralysis escape room – it’s not just challenging, but it might give you a good scare, too.
Trick or Tequila? On October 28 those 21+ can find exclusive drink specials, enter a national costume contest with a grand prize of $1,000 and so much more at the sixth annual Halloween Bar Crawl! The event will start with check-in at 4 p.m. and end with an after-party at midnight with professional photographers capturing all the excitement. The night will kick off at Twisted Sisters Patio Bar, then feature Downtown Waco bars such as Putters Waco and Southern Roots Brewing Company! End the night by sticking around for the after-party at Barnett’s Whiskey House!
Howl-o-ween at Convention Center
If you’re a lover of Halloween and animals then The Humane Society of Central Texas’ HowlOWeen Bash: Under The Sea is a must-attend event! This ocean-themed party will have a costume contest and a silent auction for some awesome goodies! Help raise funds for animals in need while listening to live music, taking mermaid and pirate photos and helping yourself to tasty food and drinks. Stop by on October 28 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. to mingle with fellow animal lovers in an underwater world!
