Players and spectators alike are gearing up for football season! Baylor’s first home game kicks off on September 3, and loyal fans are eagerly waiting in anticipation of a successful season for the Bears. Whether you’re planning on entering the gates of McLane Stadium, watching from home or not all that interested in sports, we’ve outlined everything Downtown Waco has to offer you on game day below.
Nicknamed “The Tailgater,” Downtown Waco offers a free shuttle service from the heart of downtown to McLane Stadium. It picks up at 3rd Street and Franklin Avenue next to the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. Shuttles start three hours before kickoff, operate throughout the entirety of the game and end one hour after it’s over. They are ADA accessible.
Plenty of free parking is available near the shuttle pick-up area—our recommendation is that you carpool when possible to save space for fellow fans! If you have any questions, head to this page or call (254) 750-1613.
If you’re heading to McLane Stadium, you already know where you’ll be watching the Bears. We know some of you prefer to enjoy the game from the comforts of home as well! For those who don’t have tickets and want to enjoy an exciting atmosphere surrounded by other fans, here are a few of our recommendations:
- Coach’s Smokehouse—casual bar and grill atmosphere
- Barnett’s—Texas’ largest whiskey bar
- One of the four breweries downtown
You now know where to go when the game kicks off. What can you do in the meantime?
